The Soup Kitchen boasts a rich history dating back to the 16th Century and has been owned by the Sandy Family for the past 40 years, located in the heart of Stafford overlooking St Marys Church. It is open Monday- Saturday, serving an array of homemade dishes including Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon tea in a relaxed family environment.
We enjoyed a lunch Staffordshire Oatcakes, mine was All Bay Breakfast which comprised 2 oatcakes filled with crispy bacon, sausage, cheese and mushroom. It was absolutely delicious. Sue, Bev and Dave said their choices were all superb.
Most definitely a place to re-visit if ever in the area.

We visited this pub a total of three times, twice at lunchtime when on both occasions we each had a hot beef sandwich and the third in the evening when we had dinner.
The hot beef sandwiches looked rather uninspiring, thick white bread with a small salad garnish but the taste was sensational, lots and lots of thin sliced hot beef, Sue would have liked horseradish sauce with hers but I like horseradish almost as much as I like chillies – not one little bit, so I was happy without. Sue did agree that even without the horseradish the sandwiches were very good indeed.
The evening meal was typical pub grub, I had butter cooked mushrooms to start followed by ham eggs and chips with a side order of onion rings, the others had various pies, only Bev and Dave had desserts. The meals were well cooked and the portion sizes good. If in the area again we would certainly return.
