This is a small site suitable for 14 units directly off the A125 road that runs from the Spanish border in the east right through The Algarve to Vila do Bispo in the west, if you want to go further west be prepared for a long swim as the next landfall is the USA. Coming from the direction of Spain the site is on the left, with a handy roundabout just beyond. The site is adults only although children are welcomed in the winter months.
It is called a rustic site because?????
The owners, Anthea Australian and Gerard South African, have set up, what we feel, is a very pleasant and cosy site. The facilities are, as the name suggests, rustic, but that does not mean they are not clean and fit for purpose. There are all necessary facilities including flush toilet, shower and small laundry with a washing machine and tumble dryer. For warm dry days Anthea and Gerard will provide a drying rack to sun dry your washing. As well as an extra charge for use of the laundry as water is such a scarce and expensive commodity here (the site doesn’t have a mains water supply), there is a €1 charge for a 5 minute shower everything else is included in the €20 per night charge.
Anthea and Gerard have also created a couple of gardens for campers to enjoy and, in season, there is a small clubhouse/bar.
The entrance is via locked gates that campers are given code numbers for pedestrian access and Gerard is happy to register your phone with the main gate to allow vehicular access at all times.It may seen a bit of a faff but does give give a strong feeling of safety and security.
We would certainly recommend this site would happily return if in the area.
