Now we have the motorhome we are more free where we can overnight than when we had caravans so we needed to make our selves more self reliant than when we simply had to go to a campsite each night. With this in mind we have decided that in UK we would stay in the cheapest places we can find which will almost certainly mean no electricity.
In Europe, as well as the ACSI sites we have been using for many years, which often have 6 amp or even 2 amp electricity compared with 16 amp which is what we generally get in UK, we will now be able to use “Aires”, which are short stay motorhome parking spaces also generally without electricity.
With all this in mind we have purchased a Jackery Explorer 2000 PRO, 2160WH Capacity Portable Power Station, wow! that’s a long title but what is it? In simple terms it is a big Lithium-ion battery with a linked pure sign wave inverter and with different outlets to supply power for everyday life.
We bought it when we did because during research Jackery UK had a 25% sale until we went to place our order when the price had gone back to £1999. Further research showed that Amazon now had a 25% off offer (it was full price before) so we ordered immediately before the Amazon price went back to £1999.
As I write this the Amazon price is £1999 and the Jackery UK price is just £1299 – 35% off. Perhaps we should have waited a little longer but hey ho!
